Iceland's Golden Circle: Mysterious, Captivating and Other-Worldly

Updated: Sep 4, 2020

Back in May 2018 we did a road trip on this classic route in Iceland. Packed with magnificent waterfalls, geysers, glaciers and pure wilderness, the Golden Circle drive is a great introduction to Iceland's unique landscapes.

We landed in Iceland's Capital city Reykjavik, picked a car from the airport and off we went onto this action-packed journey. For three days we covered Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Area, Gullfoss waterfall, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach and more. At each location, we hiked as much as we could, awed and absorbed. These nature wonders presented their big personalities, charismatic and loud and at the same time super seductive.

"A picture is worth 1000 words". This magic land is a photographer's delight. Here are some samples of our delicious memory.

Iceland has a lot more to offer than just the Golden Circle, next time we will certainly stay longer and cover more ground.
